I have to admit that I love our furry family members. We have had as many as five cats and four dogs living under the same roof with us. I have always had pets, ever since I was a little girl. German Shepherds, fluffy calicos, a short haired funny looking dog names Miss Boo; the list is pretty long. They all made my childhood so much better. They were easy to talk to and never judged. As an adult, that still rings true. They love you unconditionally and in return you need to do the same thing. Feed them on time every night, give them plenty of exercise, make sure they are always warm and dry, and dispense treats on a regular basis. There may be some extra little furry dust bunnies in our corners and some of our prize possessions may have a tooth mark or two. When the doorbell rings (either at our front door or on the television), there is serious barking in our house. we refer to it as our “intruder alert”. I have to admit we could live without all the barking (especially when you are home alone or trying to sleep). But all of that is a small price to pay for the joy and laughter we receive because of them. I don’t think my life would be complete without a cat on my lap and a dog by my side.
