I am working on a dream board for my bedroom. I want my bedroom to have a Shabby Chic feel. There are a lot of the elements of Shabby Chic I like. I love the off white colors as well as the pastels of Shabby Chic. I am not necessarily a fan of all the flowers and ruffles, but I do like lace and vintage. I think that when all is said in done, my bedroom will have a little bit of beach theme, a little bit of cottage with some Shabby Chic thrown in. I have been looking for the right quilt and other accessories. I know that I want to paint the walls a peachy pink and since I have chair rail in the room, it will be two shades. I have a few elements already – a floral rug I got at Salvation Army for $50 and a few mixed media piece that hang on my walls.
I recently painted some old shelves I have had for many years.
I used some cream colored paint I already had in the garage and created a crackle finish by using Elmer’s glue rather than crackle finish. I then added a touch more of Shabby Chic by adding wall paper to the back of the shelves. The total cost was about $12 for the Shabby Chic re-do.
I liked the way they turned out so much I took an old wooden tool box and mimicked the same paint and wall paper.
